Vocamo Terms of Service

Agreement

These terms apply to Vocamo — the website vocamo.app and the Vocamo mobile apps. Vocamo is operated by Andrey Kuzmin, a private individual. By using Vocamo you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

The service

Vocamo helps you learn foreign words: look up a word, save it to a collection and practice it with flashcards and spaced repetition. Vocamo is free to use and has no ads; some extra features and higher limits are part of the optional paid plan, Vocamo Plus.

We work to keep Vocamo available and useful, but we may change, add or remove features, and the service may be unavailable from time to time.

Your account

You can use Vocamo without an account. If you sign in with Google or Apple, you are responsible for the security of that account and for what happens in Vocamo under it. Tell us at info@vocamo.app if you think someone else has access to your Vocamo account.

Vocamo is not directed at children under 13.

Vocamo Plus

  • Vocamo Plus is sold only in the mobile apps, through the App Store or Google Play, and requires a Vocamo account. It is offered as a monthly or yearly subscription or as a one-time lifetime purchase; the prices, and any free trial you are eligible for, are shown in the app before you buy.
  • Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. A free trial turns into a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
  • You manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account settings. After you cancel, Plus stays active until the end of the paid period. Deleting your Vocamo account does not cancel a subscription.
  • Apple or Google is the seller of the purchase, and refunds are handled by them under their rules: request one from Apple (for example at reportaproblem.apple.com), or through Google Play. This does not affect your rights as a consumer, including any right of withdrawal under the law of the country where you live.
  • Plus raises usage limits within fair use: automated or excessive use beyond normal personal learning may be limited. We may change what Plus includes; features shown as “coming soon” are not part of what you buy until they are released.
  • If you got the app from the App Store, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement also applies.

Acceptable use

When using Vocamo, please do not:

  • break the law or use Vocamo to harm others;
  • try to access other people’s accounts or data, or parts of the service not meant for you;
  • overload, disrupt or bypass the limits of the service, including automated mass requests or copying the dictionary at scale;
  • reverse engineer the service, except where the law allows it;
  • submit content that is illegal, offensive or infringes someone else’s rights.

Content

What you add yourself — collection names, descriptions, your own examples and reports — stays yours. You allow us to store and process it only to provide Vocamo to you, and, for reports, to improve the dictionary.

The app itself, its design, the dictionary and the pictures belong to Vocamo or its licensors. You may use them for your own learning; please do not republish or sell them.

Dictionary content

Dictionary entries — translations, meanings, examples and pictures — are created with the help of AI models and may contain mistakes. Do not rely on them where accuracy matters, for example in legal, medical or official translations. If you spot an error, report it from the word card; it helps everyone.

Privacy

How we handle your data is described in the Privacy Policy.

No warranty

Vocamo is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We do not promise that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that it will help you reach a particular learning result.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Vocamo. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.

Ending use

You can stop using Vocamo at any time and delete your account in Profile → Delete account (see vocamo.app/account-deletion). We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms.

Changes

If these terms change, we will update this page and the date at the top. If you keep using Vocamo after that, the new terms apply.
